First Day of School

September 23, 2010

Summer came and went way too fast!!! We made sure we had all our clothes laid out the night before, and set the alarm to wake up extra early and Daddy gave each of the kids their annual "Father's Interview and Blessing". Something both Dad and the kids look forward to and enjoy...it's a time for Eric to really talk to the kids one on one, he always asks how they're doing and if they have any worries. Kyla was worried about getting to school on time--we vowed to do much better this year :) Camden and Durham weren't worried about a thing, just ready to GO! So the day came...the First day of school!

He was NOT happy about not being able to go to school with his sisters and brother, until...

he realized having Mommy to himself all day wasn't such a bad thing. We made chocolate chip cookies for everyone for their after school snack.

*not pictured is the two of us and the entire kitchen covered in flour when Marshall decided he needed to turn the mixer on full speed while I was on the phone. Oops!

The first day of school was a success all around, we got there on time, everyone loved their classes and teachers, and we had yummy chocolate chip cookies and milk to celebrate with when we got home!

Camden Julia

Camden or Cami as we like call her (she is a lady of many nicknames--Cami, Camers, Camer-slammer, Cam-a-lama, slammer-jammer. . .) will be 5 years old in October. She is very disappointed that she misses the kindergarten cut-off (Sept. 1st) and has to wait another whole year before she can go to"big girl school", but she started preschool 3 days a week (MWF) at Little Lambs, and loves it!!! She too started gymnastics this years, it was very hard for her to decide between gymnastics and dance, but she chose to try something different. She is a fabulous little ballerina, but we're sure she'll love this too. She is really growing up and is no longer Mommy's baby girl. It's amazing how quickly time goes by.

Durham Edward

Durham our big boy is 3 years old and growing FAST! He is ALL BOY, I'd always heard people use that saying, but now I know what it means!!!! He loves climbing, throwing, banging, tackling, loud noise making, and over all sister pestering. However, he does it all with great style and super-cuteness that is impossible to resist (especially for Mom). He learned hoe to use the potty this summer, so is officially a BIG boy! He really likes being a big brother, and is doing his best to teach Marshall the "art" mischief making and trouble dodging, but he really is a sweet and cuddly boy, quick to give hugs, kisses, and the crowd favorite "I wuv oo"--who could ask for more?
